I just wanted him to have HIV but y’all shot him.
The Recap
Tony leaves the hotel dressed in a pilot’s uniform but arrives home in a completely different outfit. As he enters into the living room to meet his wife, Gabby, he shows her all the gifts he bought for her: a Gucci purse and a pair of diamond earrings.
The next day, Ene asks Theresa to hurry up as they were on their way to meet up with Gabby, but Theresa is reluctant because she isn’t in the mood to hear Gabby brag about the things her husband got for her.
Ene calls out Theresa for being judgemental, but Theresa maintains that Gabby’s husband is compensating for something.
At the restaurant, Gabby shows off her new purse and diamond rings to both Ene and Theresa before asking Ene about her husband, Daniel. Ene replies that they fought because he extended his trip.
Daniel returns from his journey but Ene starts to nag him, asking why he was unreachable. He tells her that he isn’t in the mood and wants to rest but Ene nags even more. He yells at her and leaves to go meet with his friends, Chima and Tony.
While with the guys, Tony advises Daniel to be like him but Chima counters it, saying that Tony’s way of life is horrible. Tony then laughs and starts to brag about his conquests, and how he assumes different jobs and characters to get laid.
Daniel then asks him why he does that when he is already very successful, and Tony replies that it is his payback to all the women that treated him like dirt when he was poor.
He also declares that all women are the same and they’re all after what they can gain from a man. Daniel gets a text from his mistress which he saved as “Garki Mechanic” and leaves.
The next morning, Daniel returns home to meet a more sober Ene.
Tony on his way into a bar sees a lady Nnenna who is yelling at someone over the phone, and he immediately takes off his ring to go talk to her.
Nnenna still angry from her call transfers her aggression to him and he leaves. Later on inside the bar, she apologises to him, explaining the reason for her outburst.
As they continue to talk, she reveals that she is an aspiring actress and that her boyfriend is very controlling. She also starts to flirt with him. Tony, then tells her that he occasionally sponsors some film projects and would talk to one of his producer friends for her.
Nnenna returns home to the next morning to find her boyfriend, Michael waiting for her. He asks her where she’s been and she yells at him for coming to her home uninvited.
Her comments upset him and he grabs her arm threatening her which forces her to explains where she was. He then changes his tone, telling her that he was worried.
He also tells her that he loves her and she is stuck in a relationship with him for life. She will never be able to get out of it.
Tony wakes up and find sees Gabby looking at him upset. She asks him why he came home very late the night before. She also tells him of how she stayed up for most of the night, waiting for him but had to go to bed when he didn’t return.
He apologises and changes the subject, asking her about her birthday plans instead. He suggests gifts he could get her but she rejects them all until he proposes a trip.
She agrees to a trip to Cameroun and immediately forgives him for coming home late.
Gabby and Ene meet up for lunch. Ene is worried that she might be pregnant. She also tells Gabby that she and Daniel fought again.
Gabby asks her why she is always fighting with Daniel, and Ene says it’s because of her parents’ marriage. Her mother was a very peaceful wife but her father cheated regardless.
Gabby then suggests that she take things easy and be less of a control freak for a change.
Daniel returns home to find Ene watching the TV. He asks why she is watching a non-English speaking channel and she says that the cable subscription had expired.
He starts to complain and tells her that he is leaving to go watch football with the guys. Ene kisses him goodbye and tells him to drive safe.
When Daniel meets with the guys, he tells them about Ene’s new behaviour, and how she no longer quarrels with him. Chima then suggests that maybe she is either cheating on Daniel or preparing to kill him.
Chima then forwards the number of his private investigator to Daniel just in case he wants to know what Ene is up to.
Daniel returns home to Ene who welcomes him peacefully. He informs her that his trip has been moved forward to the next day. Ene takes the information all in and tells him that she will miss him. She also offers to help him pack his things.
Daniel surprised by her reply, tells her to go ahead as he wants to stay back to turn off the lights and lock the doors. As she goes into the bedroom, he makes a call to Chima’s PI to trail Ene.
The guys sit down at the bar playing chess. Daniel informs them that Ene isn’t cheating on him and that she has maybe genuinely changed. Chima congratulates him while Tony says that he is going on a date.
Daniel arrives home to find Tony’s car parked in his compound and his imagination runs wild. He bursts into his bedroom hoping to catch Ene and Tony together but only finds Ene instead.
He then starts to question Ene about Tony, asking her where he is. Ene is surprised but flattered by Daniel’s jealousy and proceeds to tell him that it was Gabby who brought the car over.
Gabby travels to Cameroun for her birthday while Tony goes on a sex rampage sleeping with every woman he could find and grading them on his hit list.
Tony checks into a hotel with Nnenna and a man sees them. The man then goes to tell Michael that he saw Nnenna with some fellow.
Ene bids Daniel goodbye as he leaves for his trip. On his way to the airport, he calls his mistress, telling her he couldn’t wait to see her but as he ends the call, he starts to reminisce about the good times with Ene.
He then calls his mistress to cancel and tells the driver to take him back home. Once he gets home, however, he overhears Ene talking sexy to someone over the phone.
He listens in and hears her arranging to meet with the said person on the phone. He trails Ene to the house she goes to meet the person but gets knocked down by a car while locking his door.
Ene inside the house gives Theresa a box of cupcakes, and they discuss the lines Ene told Theresa over the phone.
Ene gets a call that Daniel had been involved in an accident and rushes to the hospital immediately. Theresa suggests that they call Daniels mother but Ene can’t find her phone, and searches for Daniel’s phone to use instead.
As she is about to dial his mother’s number, a message from “Garki Mechanic” comes through. Ene uses Daniel’s finger to unlock the phone and sees all the messages exchanged between him and his mistress.
Angry at Daniel, Ene leaves Daniel with Theresa at the hospital.
Michael visits Tony and points a gun at him. He then orders Tony to call his wife, Gabby, so that she can listen in on their conversation.
Michael warns Tony never to go close to Nnenna again. He assures Tony that he won’t kill him because Tony isn’t a “bad guy”. He then tells his boys to collect all the money and valuables from Tony’s office.
While they are scouring through his office, Michael sees a painting and asks if it is an original. Tony says that it isn’t but one of Michael’s boys collects it anyway. As they turn the back, they see Tony’s hitlist where he arbitrarily scales women based on their sexual performance.
Michael and the other guys laugh at all the girls until Michael sees Nnenna’s name with a score of 65%. He gets upset and shoots Tony. Gabby arrives and finds Tony in a pool of his blood. She also finds his hitlist which makes her cry even more.
A month later, Daniel’s mum tells him about the meals he has already prepped for him. She also reprimands him for cheating on his wife.
Gabby gives Tony his drugs. She then brings out her luggage. She informs him that she is going back to Chicago to be with her family and she is not taking any of the things he bought for her along.
As she leaves, he tries to follow her but he is unable to because he is paralysed and falls on the floor.
Ene visits Daniel and offers him two choices: end the marriage then and there or she gives him a second chance with a death penalty should he cheat in her again.
He chooses the second chance.
In the epilogue
Ene and Daniel stay together and have twins. He also breaks up with his mistress.
Gabby becomes a fashion designer in Chicago.
Michael is killed in a cult clash
Tony dies from complications resulting from his injuries.
My Thoughts
See ehn, I don’t have any preamble to put here so let us just move to the next section.
Was this film mediocre?
This movie was not encouraging at all but I will say that the scene where Chucks Chyke brings out his weapon and Daniel K. Daniel said “daddy” was hilarious.
Would I watch it again?
and here’s why.
Whoever wrote this movie either got lazy or is scatterbrained because why didn’t we see Daniel actively cheating?
Or did you think that those text messages were enough?
I mean, you guys showed us, Tony, changing women like wrapper. Why was it so hard to borrow one of Tony’s many wrappers to tie Daniel with it?
I want to know why Tony ended up paralysed when it was his abdomen that was shot?
Do you guys know how many tissues and cells and organs that bullet will have to pass through before it reaches his spinal cord?
Isn’t he supposed to die if the bullet travelled that far?
What exactly was Chima and Theresa’s purpose in this movie? Shouldn’t it have been better they didn’t exist in the first place?
Aisha Mohammed, I know that this is your movie but girl, your acting was
My verdict
I give this movie a 2 out of 5. It was a boring movie but at least more coherent than Small Chops.
