I watched this cartoon — well, the prequel to this — when I was so young. Seeing this X-MEN ’97 now, made me realise I don’t remember anything. 

I am illiterate when it comes to the X-MEN  lore. 

Most of my memories of X-MEN were from the 21st Century Fox movies i.e. the Bryan Singer movies and boy were they incorrect to the source material. 

Things I discovered watching this cartoon

Rouge can fly and she is super strong. 

Storm commands the natural elements audibly as she manipulates them – an incantation of some sort.

Wolverine is annoying. All brutish and no flair.

There is no long and drawn-out love triangle between Jean, Scott and Logan that makes Scott look like a pathetic simp. 

Morph is the male Mystique but more fun. 

Jubilee was the blueprint from which Pyro was created. (I think).

Gambit and Rouge are knocking boots, unlike in the movies where it is her and Iceman.
