A loveable troll though. 

I am confused with the whole doppelganger Jean Grey story.

If I want to be cynical, I would say it was done to unburden Jean and the Cyclops from the responsibility of caring for a newborn.

However, I am not going to do that. I want to understand this episode. 

The Doppleganger Jean Grey Story

So Scott was married to the !clone Jean and had a baby, Nathan, with her. 

When !real Jean came into the picture, !clone Jean was confused.

(PS: I was wrong, !real Jean wasn’t Mystique)

!clone Jean tried to search for answers in the !real Jean’s mind and it triggered the diamond that was lodged in her forehead by Mister Sinister. That then made her become the Goblin Queen. 

!real Jean was able to set !clone Jean free from Mister Sinister’s spell and together with Cyclops, they saved Nathan but he was infected with some virus. 

They then sent him to the future to save his life and now there is no child. Since there is no child for !clone Jean and Scott to raise, she leaves the X-Men Mansion and renames herself, Madelyne Pryor. 

Thinking about this quagmire…

Maybe my cynical take wasn’t so bad after all.

Also, I don’t trust the guy promising to help Ororo.
