REBEL RIDGE: I Appreciate Your Appreciation

Why the fuck did the police hit his bike unprovoked and demand that he lay on his belly?

He (Terry) asked the police what he did and then they looked at his bike and said they had a report of a stolen bike.

Two knucklehead policemen

These police officers are assholes.

Terry has so much cash on him.

This is not going to end well.

Are they arresting him because of his cousin?

They checked his name and found no hits, so they purposely put a charge of “resisting arrest” on him so that whenever the police check their records in the future, something would pop up.

I am so angry.

These police officers stole his money. They took everything – thirty thousand dollars in cash.

I am so annoyed and it is only 8 minutes in.

The policemen let him go and he rides to the courthouse regardless to see if he could post bail but he couldn’t because he doesn’t have the bail money.

Summer, a ray of sunshine

Terry meets Summer at the courthouse and she offers to help him. They go into a diner for a drink (only Summer drank) and she immediately stops talking when a police officer enters the restaurant.

They leave the diner and Terry tells Summer;

I appreciate you for caring.

Summer replies:

I appreciate your appreciation.

Terry calls his former business partner, Mr Liu to lend him $10,000 to bail his cousin.

I have a bad feeling that those thieving policemen are going to steal that new money once he gets it.

Why is Terry sleeping in the forest?

Chief of savages

Terry is at the police station to report a crime and as he is describing suspect #1, the policewoman, Jess, froze.

There is a policeman behind Terry and it is suspect #2. The short police officer who “arrested” him in the beginning.

This dipshit right here.

The Chief is gaslighting the fuck out of Terry.
Terry made a deal with the Chief to give him $10k to bail his cousin and they kind of agreed.

Thieves!

Terry spends the night burning his paper in the bush, in the rain.

Why did he burn it? The Chief made a copy of the document.

The next day he goes to the police station and they doublecrossed him. He doesn’t see his cousin, Michael and he angrily chases the bus conveying Michael and other inmates to prison.

Terry rides his bike fast enough for the bus driver to see his face.

I don’t get it.

Terry calls Mr Liu to send him the money and Mr Liu can’t because those thieving policemen alerted the police in Mr. Liu’s town to search his restaurant for drugs.

I hate these people. They are demonic.
25 minutes in and all this fuck shit has happened.

Summer can’t help Terry anymore because she found something and her job was threatened.

These people are evil.

A hostage situation

Terry keeps talking about bringing the bail money for Michael.

Where is he going to get it from?

So the Chief, Suspect #2 and Jess are researching on Terry. He, on the other hand, returns to the police station and before the Chief goes outside to meet Terry, he confirms if Terry has combat experience (Terry is an ex-marine).

Suspect #2 said no but they are unsure about an acronym that was stated he belonged to. Jess tries to find out but the Wi-Fi is messing up.

Jess is going to find out that Terry had combat experience.

Terry is quite imposing. The way he stood in this scene (below) talking to the Chief about PACE was badass.

Jess finds out that he is great with arm-to-arm combat and disarming his opponents. So great that he has a Wikipedia page.

Suspect #2 yells at the Chief to step away from Terry. The Chief grabs his weapon to point at Terry. Terry disarms him.

Terry also disarms Suspect #2 and holds them hostage.

That whole scene was LEGENDARY.

Terry doesn’t hold Jess hostage because she is important in his escape from the police station.
Terry still maintained the deal he made, they take $26k and he, $10k.

I am afraid that once Jess lets him go, the whole town is going to hunt him till he is dead.

Terry goes to the courthouse to pay Michael’s bail. As Summer and her boss, Elliot are processing it, the police come to arrest him.

Arrested Deal-velopment

The way they hit his face on the ground.

Summer is a nice girl. She tried to film the arrest because she was afraid they were going to murder Terry.

So they didn’t take him to the station. Suspect #1

Takes him to meet the Chief. The Chief comes out of the police station with a shotgun.

Are they trying to take him to the woods to kill him?

Chief goes on some schpiel, saying that the money is for the community.

LIES!

Michael was stabbed and Terry is angry. The Chief gave Terry back his money to leave town.

Something doesn’t make sense.

Michael died.

These motherfuckers killed his family.

Out of town

Summer discovers how corrupt the town is and wants to change things. Terry doesn’t care.

Understandably.

Summer said it again:

I appreciate your appreciation.

Oh my God, they attacked Summer. They broke into her house and injected her with drugs.

I’m going to guess heroin.
These police officers are so EVIL.

Summer doesn’t have custody of her daughter because when she was an addict, she pawned off her father-in-law’s lawnmower to fund her addiction.

She is a felon.

Sad.

They set Summer up. They alerted the judge to make her do a drug test.

Assholes.

Evil scheme

Now they’ve cornered Terry. Suspect #2 tried to frame Terry and kill him.
He shot Terry but Terry was able to disarm him and run away.

I am so angry, I want to scream.

Terry escaped to Mr Liu’s restaurant and asked Summer to meet him there.

Terry wants revenge.

So the Judge corroborated what the Chief said about the town running on the stolen funds.

What I don’t get though, is why they act like gangsters if everyone is profiting off that money.

The Judge overdosed before Terry and Summer got to his house.

What the fuck is wrong with these people?!

They entered a dirty basement and Summer said:

I love it down here, you can smell the history.

Girl what?

Summer is so unintentionally funny.

Some people are also in the basement. Two men.

I bet some fuck shit is on the horizon.

Yep! They set the evidence on fire after destroying most of them.
Summer was able to quench the fire using coconut water but they had to restart the fire after she and Terry got the evidence they wanted.

A dumb move

Summer told Terry to go. She wants to collect something.

She is so dead.

She went to the Judge’s office to collect her pee sample and those demonic policemen found her.

She’s dumb AF.

They didn’t kill Summer. They kidnapped her instead.

So the final showdown would be about Terry rescuing Summer – I think.

Terry set up an exchange situation with these armed robber cops and they came to the scene with shotguns.

Were they hoping for a firing-squad-type situation?

I just hope Terry has a sensible plan because an army of cops is waiting to murder him.

The end

Terry deceived them. He used a police officer he caught as a decoy and went to the station instead to collect the weapons.

The Chief went straight to protect the cash because he thought Terry was there for the money.

Simple-minded dummy.

Summer had a police intel and Terry deduced that it was Jess.

I’m not surprised one bit.

Terry dowsed the money in fuel.

Jess betrayed Terry.

Nah! Ain’t no way. This has to be a plan by Terry and Jess.

It has to be or I will be so angry with Jess.

That stupid Suspect #2 drugged Summer again.

God, I hate that asshole.

So Jess meant to betray Terry.

She’s a dumbass for that.
But then, why am I surprised? She is a dirty cop just like the rest of those motherfuckers.

Summers’s intel, Serpico wasn’t Jess. It was Suspect #1.

Who would have thought? Wow, I am surprised.

The Chief shot Suspect #1 in the leg for trying to prevent Suspect #2 from killing Terry. There is a bit of a commotion and Jess gives Terry the signal to escape.

Alright, Jess has some small sense.

I like that this film doesn’t do the commando shooting and killing people like flies. I respect that.

Everybody is shooting at Terry while Jess is out here playing chess. She is protecting herself Machiavelli style.

In the end, Jess saved Terry, Summer and Ev (Suspect #1)

corrupt police men

Outro

This was a good movie. It was different and entertaining. If you haven’t seen it you should.
My rating for it would be a 9 out of 10. Solid stuff.

Are you going to watch this?
