I am going to go out on a limb and guess that this is the pyrite he was writing about in his journal.
A snake just bit him.
He tried to make a call but his phone fell into somewhere, so he had no choice but to suck the venom out.
That moment where he had to use a knife to cut into his skin to open it up was…
For a second I thought that was my skin.
He has passed out…
I hope he is not going to lose an arm. I am worried right now and curious how this is going to go.
He is shaking and shivering and woozy.
Where are we going to go from here? What is happening?
Look at his hand.
If that hand doesn’t get amputated, I would be shocked.
Finally! Somebody is here to see him.
What the fuck?!
What do you mean by “let’s go”? Aren’t you supposed to help him?!
This show is only seven minutes in and it’s already been established that the people in this world are horrible.
He is finally awake and he is thirsty.
and his hand is back to normal. The swelling is gone.
So I guess no amputation then.
He is calling out for his mum.
This is sad because his mother called him before he went out and was bitten by the rattlesnake which led to him losing his phone.
So even if he wanted to talk to her now, he couldn’t because he had lost his phone and he had been unconscious for God knows how many days.
His mum sent him a message
But he is not with his phone.
Oh God…
He is now fully awake… like proper proper awake.
This is such a beautiful shot.
Everywhere is so quiet. Nobody is walking on the road. No cars are moving—utter silence.
Oh…
There’s a virus in town.
I guess we should thank that rattlesnake then.
I can’t believe what my eyes just read…
So that means they are living in what could be considered worse than the wild west.
He (Ish) went to his parents’ house to see them and when he entered a room, I am guessing their bedroom, he covered his nose.
That means they’re dead, right?
His dad is confirmed dead. He died from the virus.
His mum as well…
Wow, this is awful.
He is digging a grave to bury his parents.
Waking up from a coma to find out your parents are dead must be devastating. Even his parents, probably thought he was dead as well and refused to save themselves.
How long does it take for the virus to kill people because this scene is troubling.
Or did all these people go to the church to spend their last days together?
Look at him being hopeful.
Even if there are, will they want to be around you?
The Bay Bridge is closed.
I think the people who aren’t sick closed it. They live on the other side of that bridge.
Is he trying to kill himself?
I wanted to judge but then I changed my mind. Being the only person alive in your city can make you want to do what he is trying to do.
He is at the Las Vegas Strip and the whole place is empty.
People!
Finally!
She (Ann) and the man (Milton) are immune.
And she has been through the fire because of this pandemic.
Milton is trying to live his best life while Ann is depressed. Being around Milton keeps her spirits up.
Ann and Milton don’t want to leave the hotel. Their plan is to remain there till the generators stop running and then they kill each other.
Ish is curious about what is happening outside the hotel but Milton is trying to convince him to stay because Ann likes Ish.
Ish leave these people. Their head is not correct.
Milton just made a point though.
He’s not wrong. He has lost his entire family. He watched his wife die. So living is now meaningless to him.
Ann was about to take off her clothes so that she could have sex with Ish but he stopped her and offered to take her out of the hotel.
Ann laughed and said, “no”.
I repeat, Ish, leave these people alone. Their head is not correct.
Ish left.
Thank God.
Don’t tell me those two have already murdered each other.
A dog
But what are those spots though? Are they dirt or disease?
He named the dog, Lucky: went to the library to get important books and returned to his parents’ home.
Time Jump
Somebody else is alive and they are cooking.
Final thoughts
I liked this first episode. It was sad but the hope in the end has me hopeful for episode 2.
I give it a 9 out of 10. I haven’t watched anything like this in a while and I can’t wait to see how it goes from here.
Are you going to watch this?
